Regents Park State School encourages all students to be active participants in school life, demonstrating a committment to Safety, Teamwork, Achievement and Respect with their peers.

During Year 5, students are supported by their Year 5 teachers, through the HASS studies of Government, to write a Student Leadership Speech in preparation for nomination, public speaking and voting to take on a Student Leadership Position for the following year.

A formal speech process is held in Term 4 each year where students wishing to nominate for a position can present their speech. Students in Year 5 and Year 4 vote for their chosen representative. Staff also have the opportunity to vote for the Student Leadership Team.

The successful School Captains and School Vice-Captains are introduced to the community and officially pinned at the end the same year, via a special invitation to the Year 6 Graduation and Awards Ceremony. An official Student Leadership Induction occurs in the following year for all successful nominees.
